Dr. Sabine Mueller is a trained pediatric neuro-oncologist and mainly cares for children with brain tumors. She is a graduate of the University of Hamburg, Germany. She attended medical school in Hamburg, Germany and received a Ph.D. in biochemistry/molecular biology in collaboration with a biotechnology company in South San Francisco. Before completing medical school, she worked there as a scientist and subsequently as Director of Genomics and project leader for their brain tumor program. After two years of pediatric residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children in Boston, Dr. Mueller continued her pediatric neurology training at UCSF. She further specialized in pediatric neuro-oncology and completed a one-year fellowship program in the Department of Pediatric Oncology at UCSF. Her long-term research goal is to identify new therapies for children with brain tumors as well as enhance long-term cognitive outcome in these children. Her research is supported by the NINDS as well as the Campini Foundation.
