He has received two Distinguished Investigator Awards from the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Affective Disorders in 1993 and 2005. He also gave the Smith Lecture at the National Psychobiology Institute of Israel in 1999, and the MacIntosh Lecture at McGill University in 2007.
