Neurovascular Service Fellowship Director

Dr. Bonovich is a neurointensivist based primarily at San Francisco General Hospital.. Dr. Bonovich specializes in stroke, use of thrombolytics (t-PA), magement and treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhage, and head injury. At San Francisco General Hospital he heads the clinical stroke effort making SFGH a state-of-the-art stroke center able to adminster t-PA on an emergency basis.

Dr. Bonovich also has a large outpatient practice based at San Franicisco General Hospital Neurology Clinic where he evaluates patients with stroke, TIA and other brain vascular disorders.

Dr. Bonovich's research interests include

  • Intra-arterial administration of thrombolytics
  • Stroke epidemiology among Asian Race
