Heather J. Fullerton, MD

Dr. Fullerton is a pediatric neurologist who specializes in pediatric stroke. Dr. Fullerton trained at UCSF for both pediatric neurology and did her stroke fellowship with the UCSF neurovascular service. She is one of only a few neurologists in the United States who specializes in pediatric stroke. Dr. Fullerton has an outpatient clinic in the UCSF Department of Neurology Clinic.

Dr. Fullerton's research interests include

  • Epidemiology of childhood stroke
  • Arterial dissection causing stroke in children
  • Arteriovenous malformations in children
  • Vein of Galen malformations
  • Hemorrhagic stroke in children
  • Perinatal stroke (stroke in newborns)
  • Moyamoya disease
  • Stroke in children with sickle cell disease
