Neurocritical Care Service at SFGH
San Francisco General Hospital is the San Francico County Hospital
and Level 1 Trauma Center. The Neurocritical Care Service at SFGH
is staffed by two principle physicians: Dr Claude Hemphill (Director)
and Dr. David Bonovich who are both neurointensivists (neurologists
with critical care training). The neurotrauma ICU at SFGH is a 21-bed
ICU that receives patients with head injury and spine trauma, along
with all patients with stroke, aneurysm, or other neurovascular
conditions seen in the SFGH clinics or seen in the Emergency Department.
Fellows within the UCSF Neurocritical Care and Stroke program receive
neurotrauma training at this hospital.
