Jeffrey Gelfand, MD, MAS
Dr. Gelfand is an Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology at UCSF. He specializes in caring for patients with a wide range of neuroinflammatory disorders. Dr. Gelfand is an award-winning medical educator and conducts clinical research focused on advancing new treatments for neuroimmunological diseases and restoring neurological function. Dr. Gelfand cares deeply about improving access for neurological care locally and globally and is committed to making the UCSF GTS effort as impactful as possible for individual patients, providers and their communities.
Michael Wilson, MD, MAS
Dr. Wilson is a Professor of Neurology at UCSF and specializes in caring for patients with a wide range of neuroinflammatory disorders, including neurologic infections and autoimmune diseases. In addition to his clinical work, he runs a laboratory focused on developing new technologies for identifying novel and unusual emerging infections and autoimmune conditions and collaborates with a number of investigators in the developing world to detect emerging infections and improve TB meningitis diagnostics. He is passionate about improving the care of patients with neurological diseases worldwide and is excited to participate in the GTS.
Riley Bove, MD, MMSc
Dr. Bove is a Harvard-trained neurologist and anthropologist who is passionate about the intersection between social experiences and brain health. Through GTS, she strives to deliver specialized neurological care to underserved communities in many areas of the globe.
Felicia Chow, MD
Dr. Chow is a neuro-infectious diseases specialist dedicated to improving health outcomes for patients with neurological disorders worldwide. She directs the neuro-infectious diseases center at UCSF and is involved in global health education and mentorship for neurology trainees interested in the field of global health, coordinating international experiences for residents and supporting the development of their scholarly projects.
Jon VanLeeuwen, PhD
Dr. VanLeeuwen is a neuroscientist that works at the intersection of science and policy, with experience working on domestic and global health issues. He is passionate about advancing neurological health worldwide and using technology to reach underserved communities.
