The UCSF Headache Center has a comprehensive program of inpatient and outpatient headache management to treat the most debilitating headache conditions. In addition, the center conducts research, exploring the basic mechanisms of headache and how existing and emerging treatments might provide relief. Pharmacological, behavioral, and minimally invasive injection techniques are practiced and taught. Cutting edge treatments offered now include CGRP monoclonal antibody therapy, nerve blockade, myofascial trigger point injections, neuromodulation, non-pharmacological strategies as well as several inpatient infusion therapies. Our neurology faculty members are fellowship-trained headache specialists who are all actively involved in headache medicine research and education.
