Outreach and Community Building
Nerissa Ko, MD, MAS - Vice Chair

Mission Statement

The Department of Neurology is dedicated to advancing health equity and community building, both within our department and in the care of the patients we serve through clinical practice and research. This commitment is grounded in a spirit of acceptance and respect for all.

We believe that outreach and community building strengthen our work environment, enhance the well-being of our faculty, trainees, and staff, and enable us to better serve our patients. These efforts also aim to expand our clinical impact and ensure that the benefits of our research reach the communities most in need of innovation and improved care.

The committee leads educational and community-building initiatives among faculty, staff, and trainees. We are dedicated to expanding access, ensuring fairness, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment, and promoting diverse perspectives.
